Our Sabin science department is dedicated to providing exemplary instruction of the state standards through the integration of hands-on laboratory investigations, cutting-edge technological applications and research-based activities.  Two of the teachers in our wonderful department have won the Crystal Apple Teaching Award and students overwhelmingly agree that they enjoy their science class on a daily basis.  Sixth grade focuses on an introduction to the scientific process while mastering content in Earth, Life, and Physical sciences.  The seventh-grade teachers integrate the process while asking for evidence-based explanations and require students to make claims constructed from research.  Eighth grade is centered around student-designed investigations that allow for more personal choice in the content while demanding accuracy and problem-solving.  By the time a Sabin student enters high school science courses, they will have the background knowledge necessary for success, and hopefully a passion for investigating the world around them.
